Catching the Rainbow: Uncovering the Hidden Colours of Reef Fish
Have you ever tried to catch a rainbow? For my MSc by Research, that's exactly what I set out to do. Travelling to the coral reefs of Barbados, I explored the hidden world of coral reef fish colouration, using specialised photography to capture both visible and ultraviolet (UV) patterns. Join me as I dive into the science, challenges, and unforgettable experiences behind uncovering the colours that lie beyond human vision.
Utila - An adventure of a lifetime!
A journey into reef life and marine research on the edge of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. Come read about my time on Utila, a small Caribbean island where I conducted my BSc research on damselfish behaviour, diving daily into a world of coral, colour, and constant motion. From early morning descents into the reef to hours spent observing territorial battles unfold beneath the surface, each day revealed something new about the complexity of marine life. It was an immersive experience of discovery, challenge, and awe in one of the most biodiverse marine ecosystems on Earth.
